Peer 1 on 1 Great Philadelphia Sunshine Team is a student-led non-profit organization, which fosters joyful, meaningful connections for neurodivergent children from age 5 to 18. By celebrating different communication and interaction styles, our volunteers provide fun activities and events to support authentic engagement, growth, and happiness, ensuring every child feels understood and valued for who they are.
Our Purpose
Provide opportunities for both neurotypical and neurodiverse youth to socialize and build meaningful connections. We believe that these peer interactions create an environment where new friendships can grow and community awareness can flourish.
Many youths with special needs have limited contact with neurotypical peers. As a result, they may experience isolation or be excluded from activities and social gatherings. Peer 1 on 1 Great Philadelphia Sunshine Team is committed to creating ongoing opportunities for social engagement through activities and events led by peer volunteers. Our goal is to introduce special needs youth to a variety of fun, interactive, and supportive social experiences.
